Congratulations Chris Scragg
All the team at M & C Wilkinson would like to congratulate Chris Scragg on his fabulous drive & second win in a row in the CSCC Classic K series.
Chris trod the top step of the podium twice at Brands Hatch last Saturday, but his win in the Classic K Series encounter was the more enthralling.
A thirty second penalty for winning the last race, a spin and a set of hugely determined Marcos rivals tested the Jaguar E-Type pilot’s persistence. Marcos peddler Allen Tice set the early pace; with a late brake & dive down the inside at Graham Hill bend that took him from third to first pushing Chris well over the kerb to avoid a certain collision. But Chris soon re-took the lead and led once more until he spun at Paddock, resuming in fourth place.
A safety car allowed a quick call to bring Chris in for his compulsory pit stop in order to then be able to serve his thirty second penalty at the end of the pit lane thereafter. Once the thirty seconds had elapsed he joined the que to resume back on track with the Tice/Conoley Marcos just in front.
The order chopped & changed as the pit-stops took place; thus leaving Chris fourth behind the Castaldini E-Type and the Tice/Conoley + Cox Marcoses. Chris soon passed the E-Type & Conoley Marcos leaving him three seconds adrift of Cox. Within a lap he had halved the gap and the lap later they crossed the line neck & neck with Chris taking the inside line into Paddock he re-took the lead on lap 22 and held firm for the remaining 16 laps until the finish.
