M & C Wilkinson “Sayer” Lightweight E-Type- Chassis number eight

Posted on 6 Mar, 2013

M & C Wilkinson have just completed the build of their eighth FIA appendix K competition Lightweight E-Type. The car has been purpose built for its owner Alistair Dyson for use in the HSCC E-Type challenge, Guards Trophy and Masters Gentleman Drivers events this season. Following his and the cars first test Alistair proclaimed (in his own words) that it was “The best E-Type ever” and that the car had “genuinely exceeded his expectations!”

The car was initially displayed last month on our show stand at “Race Retro” and presented to Alistair at the event on the Saturday. Following final set up work the car was taken for testing by Alistair and following a problem free day he expressed his delight; “straight out the box, no last minute dramas, nothing broke, no twisted faces, pregnant pauses; it simply went like clockwork.”

M & C Wilkinson offer “turn-key” purpose built Lightweight E-Types made to our ultimate competition specification for an agreed fixed cost and we welcome any enquires from potential customers looking to compete at the front of historic racing in one of our purpose built E-Types.

Alistair kindly supplied the following testimonial following completion and testing;

“It is the first time we have worked together and if I’m truthful I’ve been incredibly nervous I would find myself in a situation where costs escalated.

Much was done off the back of a sense of trust in the shake of hands, stare from eyeball to eyeball; I’m delighted to say you have been absolutely true to your word throughout. In my experience that’s a rare quality in business today.

With motorsport in particular, you see and hear of so many builders/preparers seizing the opportunity for a fast buck, or simply taking advantage of their customer’s pockets, eventually leading to inevitable sourness and regret.

I look forward to a long association with you guys, who are true gents. I’m sure it won’t always be this easy, but what a great foundation!

Please pass on my thanks to the team

Regards (from one happy bunny!)
