Tommy Sopwith “Equipe Endeavour” competition factory MK1

M & C Wilkinson have recently completed the restoration of a very special MK1 prepared by the Jaguar factory in 1959 for Tommy Sopwith’s renowned “Equipe Endeavour” race team, which was driven by 1955 Le Mans winner Ivor Bueb and Jack Sears.

The car won every race it was entered in including Goodwood on two occasions.  The only time that the car did not win was during the Snetterton 100 mile race as after setting pole position and fastest lap the car lost brakes and was only able to finish second.

Following the tragic loss of Ivor Bueb in 1959, the car was mothballed and taken away from the public domain by Tommy Sopwith and finally all these years on is set to be a part of the next Goodwood Revival.
